Community Organizing

Community Organizing

Our goal is to become a broad-based, multicultural, and racially diverse membership organization. We want to develop a sustainable infrastructure for community leaders to learn together and act together, with the power to make systemic changes in the social justice and racial equity issues impacting their communities.

How We Organize

We are building a base of community leaders, individuals, community groups, faith institutions, and nonprofits with the intention of building relational power to make systemic changes in the community. Our entire organization practices relational organizing, and within the organizing arm we focus on using the strength of our collective power for change.

Our organizing events each provide a unique opportunity to learn. We discuss the steps needed to build a movement, share valuable information, and welcome community members to make connections across different areas of interest. Organizing campaigns may have specific issues but we work diligently to ensure we identify the ways that our interests and organizing actions overlap with others.

The Justice Hour is a monthly meeting of community members who are organizing for change across Chatham. Organizers are community leaders, concerned parents, neighbors who are invested in justice and more.

Community Organizing is about acting together. We're building a movement - learn more about where and how you can organize with your community.

Connecting with CORE is a monthly opportunity for community members to find out what is happening at CORE and in the community. We offer updates on all of our work efforts and events, then invite everyone present to share about organizing actions across the county and beyond.

It's another place to find where you can plug in for action and support the efforts for justice.
