The goal is to become a broad-based, racially diverse membership organization. We want to develop a sustainable infrastructure for community leaders to learn together and act together, with the power to make systemic changes in the social justice and racial equity issues impacting their communities. CORE’s impact across the state resulted in requests to bring CORE’s model to other rural communities. In the long-term, CORE will be expanding to support rural counties across the state model CORE’s programming.
How We Organize
We are community organizers currently building a base of multi-racial community leaders, individuals, community groups, faith institutions, and nonprofits with the intention of building relational power to make systemic changes in the community. Our entire organization practices relational organizing but our organizing arm focuses on collective action in our collective power. CORE defines “relational organizing” as a process of relationship-building, developing leaders, and building racial equity awareness to drive systemic change.
