Community Organizing

Community Organizing

Our goal is to become a broad-based, multicultural, and racially diverse membership organization. We want to develop a sustainable infrastructure for community leaders to learn together and act together, with the power to make systemic changes in the social justice and racial equity issues impacting their communities.

How We Organize

We are community organizers currently building a base of multi-racial community leaders, individuals, community groups, faith institutions, and nonprofits with the intention of building relational power to make systemic changes in the community. Our entire organization practices relational organizing, but our organizing arm focuses on collective action in our collective power. CORE defines “relational organizing” as a process of relationship-building, developing leaders, and building racial equity awareness to drive systemic change.

The Justice Hour is a monthly meeting of community members who are organizing for change across Chatham. Organizers are community leaders, concerned parents, neighbors who are invested in justice and more.

Community Organizing is about acting together. We're building a movement - learn more about where and how you can organize with your community.

Connecting with CORE is a monthly opportunity for community members to find out what is happening at CORE and in the community. We offer updates on all of our work efforts and events, then invite everyone present to share about organizing actions across the county and beyond.

It's another place to find where you can plug in for action and support the efforts for justice.
